Is it worth painting internal doors with whitewash for a long-term durable finish, rather than enamel?

This all depends on the actual finish you put on the doors..not the whitewash itself..the whitewash is the stain that is used to give it it's effect..the finish you use depends on the durability..Use a good grade marine grade varnish on them if you want them to last...do not shake varnish for it will create air bubbles in the finish..lightly stir the product..I also make sure to put some of the varnish on the bottoms and the tops of the doors too where the grain is open to seal it from moisture and warping or the venner peeling in the future...I am a 37 year experienced painter and have done many government jobs, they require the bottoms and tops being sealed as well..Is it worth painting internal doors with whitewash for a long-term durable finish, rather than enamel?

No,it will chip %26amp; you can't wash very often before it starts to come off
As said already NO. Whitewash or emulsion paint has no resistance to knocks and abrasions. It is purely decorative.

Enamel is over the top for a door. Use a good gloss paint from a known manufacturer such as Dulux or Crown.

You must also use the recommended undercoat to achieve anything like a decent result.
