Is it ok to paint a basement wall with an enamel paint? when i first moved in, we painted the walls with?

basement paint. the paint has held up generally well.

in a couple spots it has chipped off. this paint was applied to the foundation walls. the basement is unfinished.

would it be ok to paint over this with an enamel paint to clean it up a bit and alsot wipes clean easily and forms a coating that wouldn't chip?

the house was built in the 1930's and the basement foundation walls are some sort of plaster type material. Is it ok to paint a basement wall with an enamel paint? when i first moved in, we painted the walls with?
For any good re-coating, you really should put on a coat of ';Gripper';-type primer, first.

You might try a product called ';elastomeric'; paint. It is not much more expensive than others and it can be tinted by the paint store for you. It is very resilient and most often used for retaining walls and underground parking garages, mostly because it resists bubbling and moisture damage quite well. Do check with your paint store to make sure it is ok to use indoors, first. Is it ok to paint a basement wall with an enamel paint? when i first moved in, we painted the walls with?
As long as there isnt too much moisture, should be ok
